Getting the photo right

Stand straight on to the camera with your face centred and your eyes roughly two-thirds down the photo. Use a plain light background and even lighting with no shadows on the face. Most passport services want the head to fill most of the frame. Rules differ by country, so check your government's current photo guidance before you print — this tool sizes your image but cannot guarantee acceptance.
